Put Bullying On Ice

Bullying...it’s an epidemic in American schools. Most education administrators struggle daily with the challenges that bullying can bring. Even with the most stringent anti-bullying policies in place, bullies still manipulate and challenge students from all walks of life. How can you help keep the kids in your schools stay safe?

Dave Schultz can help! He is well known for his outstanding performance as a professional hockey player and as a two time Stanley Cup winner. What most people do not realize is that he was once a victim of bullying. For years, he tried to outrun, outsmart, and hide from bullies in his small farm town in Canada.

Today, Dave has a message for kids. Bullying is not to be tolerated. His message resonates and inspires kids to do the right thing and help eliminate bullying. His message, “Put Bullying On Ice” is profoundly moving as he talks with his audiences about what it was like to be a bullied and what it was like to be a bully. Dave was the “enforcer” on his hockey team and established the reputation of being a bully on the ice. And like some kids, especially those that are in gangs, he received accolades from friends and even fans while the press encouraged his bullying antics on the ice.

Kids will be asked to take an anti-bullying pledge after Dave’s speech. This pledge will be a reminder to everyone who signs it to do the right thing: help protect kids that are being bullied by getting the aid of an adult, and to not use bullying as a way to express angry, dominant behavior.
